Corey Hart Makes #4 of the Best Outfielders of 2010
There is an abundance of outfielders so far this season that are putting up huge numbers for their teams. Out of 20 hopefuls I narrowed the list down to five. Out of all the positions, outfielders are definitetly putting up the best stats this year.
4. Corey Hart, Milwaukee Brewers: Move over Ryan Braun and make way for Corey Hart. This year Hart is putting up better power numbers that his teammate Braun. Braun’s homerun numbers are down this year, but he is still having a solid offensive year, just not as good as Hart’s. Hart is known to be an average hitter over his short career so far, but this year his stats already passed his season totals from last year. Hart is hitting .268 with 18 home runs and 54 RBI’s. Hart is actually in third for most home runs in baseball and fifth in most RBI’s. Where is this production coming from? Maybe a little bit of Braun power rubbed off on Hart.
Unfortunately the Brewers are having a terrible year, currently in fourth place, 10 games under .500 and nine games back from the division leading Cardinals. If Hart keeps up his production, which would give him career highs in almost every stat possible the Brewers may have a chance to turn things around. Hart alone will not give the Brewers a playoff berth but if Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun starting pounding out more home runs, they have a good chance to turn things around.
